Frequently asked questions

Answers about sales, licensing and the technical setup on RDL Hub.

General

What is RDL Hub?

RDL Hub is an academic data marketplace where researchers can upload, publish, license and sell their raw data.

Who can sell data?

Verified users with the RESEARCHER role can publish datasets and list them for sale.

Can I share for free instead of selling?

Yes — pick a CC0 or CC-BY license and your dataset is free to use.

Data uploads

Which file formats are supported?

CSV, JSON, XML, Excel, ZIP, TAR, GZIP, Parquet, HDF5, NetCDF, SQLite and images (JPEG, PNG, TIFF).

What's the maximum file size?

100 MB per file. Use folder hierarchies and ZIP archives for larger datasets.

How are my files secured?

All files live in private MinIO buckets; every download uses a 5-minute signed URL.

Can I delete uploaded data?

Yes — any unsold dataset can be removed anytime. For licensed datasets, the buyer's rights are preserved.

Licensing & pricing

Which licenses are available?

CC0, CC-BY, CC-BY-NC, CC-BY-SA, MIT, Apache 2.0, commercial and custom licenses.

How do I set my price?

Pick a price when creating the listing based on market value and effort. We suggest TRY 10–50 for small sets, TRY 100–500 for comprehensive ones.

What is the Hub commission?

Our standard commission is 10%; this drops to 5% for academic institutional accounts.

When do I get paid?

Sales accumulate in your payout panel; once your IBAN is registered we pay out weekly.

Purchasing

Which payment methods are supported?

Credit/debit card (Visa, Mastercard, Troy), bank transfer and all local payment methods via PayTR.

How do I download a dataset I bought?

Your licenses appear in the Library. Each file has a Download button that issues a 5-minute signed link.

Can I get a refund?

For digital products you can request a full refund within 7 days if you hit a technical issue (corrupt file, wrong dataset).

DOI & academic citation

Will my dataset get a DOI?

Yes — every published dataset receives an automatic DOI; academic citations are tracked via OpenAlex.

Where can I see citation counts?

From the “Citation metrics” section on the dataset detail page you can see all citations and the citing publications.

Got more questions?
